Awana Overview

Children attending our 90 minute weekly meetings have the opportunity to participate in a large group Bible lesson, age-appropriate games, Scripture memorization, music and singing. The children can earn awards and badges that are displayed on their uniforms. Awana clubs are rooted in the idea that children can have fun while learning God's word.

This year we are excited to introduce TREK, a unique program designed specifically for middle school and high school students.  TREK includes music, games, scripture memorization and a lesson from the Bible in a relaxed atmosphere that allows students to share and grow.

What Awana Teaches Kids

Awana teaches children that God is real, He loves them and he has expressed that love through His Son, Jesus Christ. Kids also learn how God can help them in their daily lives. Bible-based lessons teach them how to obey God in a complex world. The goal of Awana is to give boys and girls the chance to know, love and serve God.

Age Groups

Cubbies- ages 4 & 5

Sparks- Kingergarten - 2nd grade

TNT- 3rd grade - 6th grade

TREK - Middle and High School students

Program

Large Group Time - Kids and leaders gather together for singing, award presentations and most importantly, a practical Bible message.

Handbook Time - Kids work with trained leaders to finish assignments in their curriculum materials. Awana emphasizes memorizing and understanding key Bible verses that teach children how to know and follow God. Awards and badges are earned during this segment as a reward for their achievements.

Game time - Kids love this time of high energy games. Children unleash their energy while learning teamwork, sportsmanship and other character traits through their participation.

Snack time - At the very end of recreation time each week the children enjoy a delicious snack provided by volunteers in the congregation.

The TREK program runs independently of the Cubbies, Sparks and TNT schedule but still maintains many of the elements that make it Awana.
